An attractive perfume display should also make your collection easy to look after. The practical aim is a stable storage spot, secure closures and less unnecessary exposure to heat and direct sunlight.
Choose a sensible location
Keep bottles away from sunny windows and places that become very hot. A protected cupboard or drawer can be more practical than a decorative shelf beside a window. Follow any specific storage instructions supplied with the product.
Look after smaller atomisers
Keep decants upright where practical, closed and clearly labelled. Carry them in a protective pouch instead of loose beside keys. Check the closure before travelling and do not leave your everyday fragrance in a parked car.
Avoid certainty based on appearance alone
Colour changes do not by themselves establish whether a fragrance is usable, and a batch code is not a universal expiry verdict. If something changes unexpectedly, consult the seller or manufacturer rather than relying on a guessed shelf life. Good organisation also helps: use the fragrances you enjoy, and avoid accumulating more than you can reasonably rotate.
