Buying fragrance online can be difficult when you have not worn the scent on your own skin. A perfume decant gives you a more flexible way to discover a fragrance before deciding whether it deserves a larger place in your collection.

At Bloom & Belle, fragrance decants are transferred from original fragrance bottles into Bloom & Belle atomisers. Depending on the fragrance, decant sizes are available in 2.5ml, 5ml, 10ml, 15ml, 30ml and 50ml. Only a variant explicitly labelled Original Bottle is supplied as the original retail bottle.

This guide explains how to choose the size that best matches the way you want to discover, wear and live with a fragrance.

2.5ml — Discover

The 2.5ml option is the smallest Bloom & Belle decant size and is designed for discovery. Choose it when you are curious about a fragrance but are not yet sure how it will develop on your skin, how often you will reach for it, or whether the scent profile suits you.

It is particularly useful when you want to compare several fragrances without committing to larger quantities of each one.

5ml — Explore

A 5ml decant gives you more time with a fragrance while still keeping the commitment small. It is a useful step up when you already like the scent profile and want to wear the fragrance on different days, in different temperatures or for different occasions.

If you tend to change fragrances regularly rather than wearing one signature scent every day, 5ml can also be a practical collection size.

10ml — Travel

10ml is a versatile size for customers who already know they enjoy a fragrance. It gives you a useful amount for regular wear while remaining compact enough for a handbag, work bag or travel kit.

This size works well for fragrances you want in rotation without immediately moving to a much larger quantity.

15ml — Everyday

A 15ml decant suits a fragrance that has moved beyond testing and into regular use. It gives you more room for repeated wear while remaining smaller and more flexible than committing to an original retail bottle.

Consider 15ml when you know the fragrance works for you and you expect to wear it often for work, weekends or a particular season.

30ml — Favourite

30ml makes sense when a fragrance has become a genuine favourite. At this stage, you are no longer simply testing the scent; you are choosing enough to make it part of your normal rotation.

It can be a strong middle ground for fragrance lovers who want a substantial amount of an authentic scent without necessarily buying the original full-size presentation.

50ml — Signature

50ml is the largest standard Bloom & Belle decant size. Choose it for a fragrance you already know well and expect to wear consistently.

For customers who care more about the fragrance itself than the manufacturer bottle and packaging, a 50ml decant can provide a larger quantity while keeping the Bloom & Belle decant format.

Which perfume decant size should you choose?

A simple way to decide is to match the size to your confidence level:

  • Trying it for the first time: start with 2.5ml.
  • Want more time to decide: choose 5ml.
  • Already like it and want a portable size: consider 10ml.
  • Planning regular wear: consider 15ml.
  • It is already a favourite: consider 30ml.
  • You know it is a signature-level fragrance for you: consider 50ml.

Not every fragrance is available in every size at all times. The product page shows the current variants available for that fragrance.

Decant or Original Bottle?

The right format depends on what matters most to you. A decant is useful when you want flexibility, discovery and different quantity options. An Original Bottle is the better choice when you specifically want the manufacturer bottle, presentation and full retail format.

On Bloom & Belle product pages, the difference is stated in the variant name. If the option says a millilitre size with decant, it is supplied in a Bloom & Belle atomiser. If the variant explicitly says Original Bottle, it is supplied as the original retail bottle.

Why starting smaller can be useful

Fragrance is personal. A scent can smell different on paper, on another person and on your own skin. Your impression can also change after several full wears.

Starting with a smaller decant lets you answer the questions that matter before increasing your commitment: Do you enjoy the opening and the dry-down? Do you reach for it naturally? Does it suit the situations where you planned to wear it? Would you rather explore something else?

That is the idea behind Discover Before You Commit.
